Instructions to light a candle on the Laad website in memory of hosile action casualties


​On the Laad website in memory of hostile actions casualties are commemorated the victims killed in hostile actions.
The website allows you to see information about the casualties, such as their lives story and pictures of them (all information is provided and approved by family members). A website visitor can find this information by searching the casualty's name, surname, place of residence, place or date of the hostile action.


On the website, one also can "light" a virtual candle in memory of the victims, and share personal dedications on Facebook.

To light a personal candle for a victim on the website:

  1. Enter the name and surname of the victim in relevant fields on the homepage and click "search".
  2. When the name and picture appear, click on the picture to receive further information.
  3. Upon the picture will be displayed a link to the "candles room", click on it.
  4. On the new page that opened will be displayed again the picture with the caption "light a candle".
  5. In the window that opened you will be asked to input the personal details of the person lighting the candle. You will be able to add a dedication too (under the "personal dedication" tab). After inputting the details, click "send" at the bottom of the page.

To share personal dedication to a hostile actions casualty on Facebook:

  1. Enter the name and surname of the victim in relevant fields on the homepage and click "search".
  2. When the name and picture appear, click on the picture to receive further information.
  3. Upon the picture will be displayed a link to the "share on Facebook", click on it.
  4. In the window that opened you will be able to add a personal dedication. Compose the your dedication and click "next".
  5. The website will show you the content that will appear on Facebook. Click "share on Facebook" to finalize.

To light a candle in collective commemoration and share it on Facebook:

On the homepage, at the bottom left is displayed a picture of a memorial candle and on it a link captioned "lighting a collective candle and sharing it on Facebook".

  1. Click on the link.
  2. In the window that opened you will be able to add a personal dedication. Compose your dedication and click "next".
  3. The website will show you the content that will appear on Facebook. Click "share on Facebook" to finalize.


Please note: Dedications will only be published after review by website's administrator.
